Our client is looking to hire six crime lawyers, three for Cornwall and three for their Devon office. Ideally you will have between two and ten years + PQE. We seek lawyers that relish a challenge and have no problems with working whenever business calls. Mainly legal aid defence work but also a high proportion of interesting privately funded work too. Legal services quality mark attending magistrates-county court and police stations.

We seek competent crime lawyers with duty accreditation and experience to match. Prominent communication, negotiation and advocacy skills, able to legally defend clients in court, prepare and present evidence and proceed to trial. Including governing/managing clients defence, obtaining evidence from defence and expert witness. Preparation of detailed mitigation for court presentation, advising on recovery of cost orders, prosecution costs and conviscation proceedings.

Experience of VHCC would be of interest but not mandatory.

Work includes: criminal litigation, serious fraud, prison law, employment law, extradition, confiscation orders, proceeds of crime, forfeiture work, licensing, sports and medical law, motor crime, corporate crime, behavioural offences and more…..

Applications are additionally invited from legal executives and barristers who have caseload as well as advocacy experience. We seek a professional that is competent in the full range of employment law matters. They will be able to represent both employers and employees in contentious cases, in a very professional private practice environment.

They must have a proven track record of generating good fee income from a predominantly contentious caseload gained from private practice. Must be very articulate and competent regarding litigation. Be comfortable in handling varied cases from small, medium and large international corporate clients.

Have a proactive approach to case management, have the ability to build strong client relationships. Ability to market the firm and its full range of services to prospective new clients as well as existing ones.
