Employment Lawyer

We are currently looking to fill an employment lawyer / solicitor job vacancy in Cornwall, UK.

Salary - £30 to 50k.

Our client, a very successful regional law firm seek to appoint an Employment Lawyer.

The position is based in a Cornwall based office working for a very successful Employment and Pensions team.

There will be a real focus of investing in the region as well as a portfolio of regional, national and international clients.  You will have the opportunity to work on a blend of contentious and non-contentious cases.  This role will also make a significant contribution in supporting and getting involved in local and regional business development activity.

We seek a lawyer with a sound knowledge of employment law and the ability to apply it.  Experience gained in a law firm with a significant employment team.  Ability to manage a variety of employment work from start to completion and to be able to manage multiple work loads. Achieve chargeable time targets and recording, 90%+ recovery rates, manage account balances, manage own debtors and file management in accordance with Lexel procedures.

Experience is required in writing articles and pitches, contributing to knowledge management, supporting the team, firm and all business development efforts.

Must have solid experience of running employment tribunal cases, settlement negotiations and advising on settlement agreements, including compromise agreements.  Reviewing and drafting employment contracts, policies and handbooks.
