Family Lawyer – Panel Member – Partner Potential

Details of a family lawyer job vacancy, involving the position of Family Panel Member, and with Partner Potential.

4-10 years PQE. £30-50K plus bonus. £60-120K for a Partner.

The client, a dynamic Cornish law firm is looking to strengthen its family department with the appointment of a senior matrimonial lawyer.

Duties involve running your own wide-ranging large and complex caseload. Incorporating the full spectrum of family law matrimonial work including “Children’s Act 1989” cases and associated advocacy.

Administer all new and existing client files from initial instruction through to final completion. Take a proactive approach to obtaining new work and promoting/cross-marketing services of the department and firm to new clients. Marketing the firm when regularly attending social and business parties, PR events, press releases, and general adhoc meetings.

Additionally, write articles for the local press and inform the public and clients of new regulations and happenings in family law. Assist in managing the family department within the firm, including future strategies, recruitment and expansion plans. Client’s work is both private and publicly funded. The clients and their work varies greatly in description and content.

Experience in children’s work is most desirable with emphasis on HNI ancillary relief and initial family break-up, financial solutions. Membership of “Resolution” or involvement in/with collaborative law will be viewed as a positive aspect. Past/present involvement with mediation; managing/arranging/chairing mediation including communication and giving fair advice between the parties.

Administration and preparation of all details for court hearings for divorce, civil partnership and dissolution, article 8 checks, child abduction, domestic violence, non-molestation orders, injunctions, co-habituation disputes, financial provisions for initial family unit break-up, inheritance disputes, co-habitation disputes, domestic violence injunctions, co-habitation injunctions, keeping an open door policy to all other members of the firm and it’s partners regarding family work knowledge.

Additionally, general partnership prospects are available after six-twelve months for the right candidate.

We have a family lawyer job vacancy in a coastal town for a professional to manage a large case load of consisting of both publicly funded and private clients.

Work will encompass all aspects of family law business matters. If you are a family or children’s panel member, our client will very interested in you.

- Cohabitation, divorce, nullity of marriage and ancillary relief – interviews, case planning, instructions, drafting documentation, referrals to mediation, financial disclosure and issuing proceedings, offers of settlement, drafting of consent orders, court correspondence, witness statements, first appointment and FDR hearings, advocacy, instructions for counsel, attending court, follow through to final decisions.

- Children’s Matters – Private and Public Law – Advising clients, instructions, negotiations via correspondence, application forms for Children’s act matters, PR agreements, statements, attending child protection conferences, advocates meetings, conference with counsel, directions, appointments, interim hearings, final hearings, public funding administration, liaison with court, counsel, local authorities, social services, mediators, cafcass and guardians.

Family Lawyer – Part time

Local Cornish law firm based in a beautiful seaside location seek to appoint a family lawyer who would like to work part time.

The following experience is sought:
- Conducting initial consultations and assessment of both client and case, advocacy to FDR stage, including preparing and assisting council at final hearing.
- Complex FDR’s and high court matters.
- Drafting all applications, statements, Form E briefs to counsel and orders.
- Correspondence on all cases, referrals to mediation and all LSC funding applications.
- Children act proceedings from application to final hearing with counsel.
- Family law act, proceedings from ex-parte applications to final hearing with counsel.
- Assisting another fee earner on child care cases, including attending PPM’s and directions appointments as advocate.

This is fabulous job that could be expanded at a later date to a full time appointment.
