Contentious Intellectual Property Lawyer, 50/160K+  Bonus.

Our client a growing and ambitious law firm based in the South West UK, are looking to hire the above professional specialist.

The job is working in their diligent but also commercially brilliant Litigation – Dispute Resolution team as the specialist IP litigation lawyer.

Work will include all aspects of IP litigation including:  Patents, trade marks, domain names, confidential information, designs and/or copyright.

Our chosen candidate will work closely with clients to establish protective strategies to safeguard their intellectual property.

This is a great opportunity to move quickly to Associate status and be very visible under the possible New Partner spot-light.

  • Your role will be to protect the investment of clients intellectual property;
  • To assist, identify, advise and manage legal risk around the technology development activities of clients;
  • Be our clients first point of contact and interface on all IP matters;
  • Responsible for preparation, prosecution and maintenance of patents and other registered rights;
  • Supporting and advising clients on all IP commercial activities;
  • Develop practices and procedures regarding patent preparation and prosecution.

We are also seeking to find for our client a lawyer with:

  • Strong patent legal knowledge and case experience. Not only in the core areas of patent drafting, prosecution and opinion/contentious work, but preferably also extending to trade marks and the preparation details required for of IP licensing and technology also development agreements.
  • Strong influencing, analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Sound judgment, ability and case knowledge in this very specialised world-wide legal arena;
  • Ability to understand a wide-range of businesses, their strategies, their  people and cultural organisational structures;
  • Ability to work effectively in an environment where understanding global legal IP rights are key;
  • Ability to understand a range of different technologies;
  • Have an outside interest in Engineering.
  • Possession of an additional Engineering Degree.
