Production Manager, Food Industry 18-30K

Our client a Cornish food producer,  is currently expanding its manufacturing business operations. They are seeking to appoint an experienced Production Manager to run all manufacturing of food/confectionary/FMCG products.

Ideally we are seeking to find a Production/Operations Manager who has work experience in the food industry. You may possibly be working in a different industry and have excellent alternative manufacturing production experience. We can assure you that our client will still have a definite interest in looking at your CV and possibly wish to meet with you in person. A keen knowledge of food hygine Health and Saftey proceedures would be ideal, but not essental.

We are looking to find a candidate that possesses a steady track record, combined with a progressive and interesting career history. An individual that can provide both personal and professional references at the first meeting.

Our client has a very healthy financial profile as well as prime-sited retail outlets where products are sold to both local residents and holiday makers. Retail professional clients include: Hotels, restaurants, other shops and internet customers.

There are plans to export products to retail and wholesale international clients within a two year time-window.

Daily work duties will include:

  • Responsible for correct production scheduling and ensuring production is carried out accurately from orders to cooking, processing, packing and despatch;
  • Ensure HACCP are adhered to at all times;
  • Completion and sign off of site documents (including, but not limited to recipes, production HACCP and site due diligence sheets);
  • Follow company regulations regarding hygiene & safety;
  • Follow procedures as defined in the company handbook;
  • Assist with production work and other related tasks as and when necessary;
  • Maintain high levels of cleanliness, working to the ‘clean as you go’ policy, following the cleaning procedures and schedules including the completion and sign off of all hygiene documentation;
  • The training of all new, existing and temporary production staff;
  • The management of all team leaders and on-site production staff;
  • Collaboration with warehouse manager to maximise stock inventory levels and  ensure raw materials are available in time for manufacture;
  • Production planning;
  • Focusing on continuous improvement of production and processing techniques;
  • Organising work shifts: 7am-4pm and 4pm-12 midnight;
  • Machines used: Flow rapper, vertical bagger, vibratory weigh machine, twist rappers and air ram cutters;
  • Order book analysis;
  • I.T. experience: Excel, Microsoft Word and Sage: For order processing, raising PO’s, create invoices for materials and processing of orders;
  • Administration tasks include: production schedules, signing of all time sheets and signing of cleaning schedules;
  • Production machine controls are all touch-screen.
