The Role: The position will involve dealing with disputes over Wills, Estates and Trusts to include disputes between cohabitees and other unmarried property owners about the extent of their interests in property and how they can realise their shares.

 

You will be assisting the partner in charge of the team and other fee earners, so you will need to have a flexible approach and the ability to work within a team environment.

 

General day to day activities will involve dealing with active matters, assisting and meeting with clients, opening files and dealing with your own case load. The position will include the preparation and issue of proceedings, attending court with and without Counsel, attending mediation appointments and conferences and generally progressing claims in the County Court or the High Court usually under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependents) Act 1975, the Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996 and the doctrine of proprietary estoppel.

 

Are you the right person? The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of post-qualification experience and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a focus on exceptional client care.

 

You will have an excellent academic record. The position would suit someone who is highly organised, accurate, proactive and committed to meeting deadlines while remaining calm under pressure.

 

Excellent all-round communication skills, professional telephone manner and attention to detail is essential. Previous work experience in a Dispute Resolution or a Private Client team with knowledge of contentious probate issues is essential.
