Legacy/Charities Lawyer, South West – 50/80K+

Our client an award winning South West law firm are seeking to appoint a lawyer that specialises in Legacy and Charity litigation. This is an exciting opportunity to work in one of the most prominent Dispute Resolution teams in the West Country.

Job purpose

To lead and undertake a full range of legacy/charities dispute cases for clients.

To proactively grow and develop capability, client work and fee income as part of supporting the business and strategic plans.

Key responsibilities

You must be able to demonstrate

  1. Excellent proven technical and specialist knowledge and track record of Legacy/Charities dispute law. To include:
  • odisputes with executors;
  • oprobate fraud;
  • odisputes regarding the validity of wills or relating to the construction of gifts;
  • oclaims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependents) Act 1975;
  • oEstoppel claims and Court of Protection matters.
  1. Considered as a ‘subject matter expert’ and able to act as internal specialist and adviser where appropriate;
  2. Proven track record of a range of business development and marketing activities and experience including developing and leading strategies and action plans for building and growing a new offering;
  3. A highly flexible approach and the capability to work well and flourish within a team environment;
  4. Experience of supervising and developing others, for example successfully supervising and developing trainees/paralegals etc would be a distinct advantage.
  5. Excellent all round communication skills including the capability to develop and maintain strong client relationships and to promote the offering internally and externally.
  6. Work effectively with other Dispute Resolution team members.
