An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a senior lawyer to head up a new employment law litigation business.

This is a newly created role that will make an important contribution to the law firm’s overall profile.  Servicing an established client base, as well as marketing and contacting new prospective clients.

We are ideally looking for a lawyer who is able to demonstrate the work competencies listed below.

The role:

To proactively grow and develop capability, client work and fee income as part of supporting the business and current strategic plans.

To work as the lead lawyer and build an Employment and Pensions legal franchise to further development of our client’s law firm.

Key responsibilities:

You must be able to demonstrate

  1. A good working knowledge of:-

o Employment law and the ability to apply it;

o Practical, commercial and strategic HR advice;

o Employment tribunal case management;

  1. Experience of managing and developing other lawyers or demonstrates potential and willingness to step up to such a position.
  2. A “business developer” who demonstrates ability to attract new clients and manage important client relationships.
  3. Living the Firm’s values; Progressive, Determined and Supportive.

Desirable criteria

  1. Working knowledge and experience of:-

o Employment tribunal advocacy;

o Outsourcing, TUPE and corporate support work;

o Working with local HR clients.

  1. Modest following or existing contacts with local or national HR clients.
  2. Experience of working in a large national or local law firm.
  3. This career role would suit an ambitious lawyer who relishes a challenge and seeks fast progression based upon their own achievements.
