Marketing Manager – Food Products
Price & Promotions Brand Manager (Food FMCG National);Location:

Reporting To: Senior Retail Marketing Manager.

We have been retained by one of the largest UK Food distributors to find a Marketing Manager.

Role Purpose:
To develop and deliver the in-store marketing plan based on the event objectives.

Role Scope:
Working within Marketing for one of the largest UK FMCG food businesses.
Area of Responsibility: Co-ordination of Category Events.

Key Activities:
Work with Retail Marketing Manager and relevant Trading Managers to ensure category events are delivered in line with consumer and customer needs.
Present on the design and budget costs for Category Events – POS Material.
Design & produce POS/ POS maps for the Category Event in conjunction with outside agencies and in line with brand position.

Measures:
Accurate, timely POS / POS Maps for Category Events to all department food hall stores.
Area of Responsibility: In Store Communications.

Key Activities:
Design and production of POS in line with brand positioning and in conjunction with outside agencies.
Ensure correct POS material including visual merchandising guide (PoS Maps) are sent in a timely fashion to all stores.
Co-ordination of relationships with key marketing suppliers including advertising agencies, photographers, design companies and print management.
Responsible for the development and delivery of ongoing promotional communication to retailers.
Responsible for the accuracy of the PoS and associated retailer and consumer communications.

Measures:
All aspects of Marketing Communication around occasions and events adhere to brand guidelines and are legally compliant.
Current price perception of shoppers.
Evidence of strong engagement with internal stakeholders.
Evidence of good ways of working with agencies; written briefs, clear feedback etc.

Key Tasks:
Responsible for our clients leaflets with regard to design and implementation of the Promotional flyer to communicate Value for Money to customers and consumers.
Responsible for the accuracy of the leaflets.
Responsible for the management of the leaflet distribution agency.

Measures:
Leaflet design adheres to brand guidelines and is legally compliant.
Current service and price perception of shopper-customers.
Evidence of strong engagement with internal stakeholders.
Evidence of good ways of working with agencies; written briefs, clear feedback etc.
Increase total number of leaflets distributed and number of stores distributing.
SOV increases ( Leaflet company SOV tracker); leaflet engagement and recall improves (Front Door research).

Ensure that our client and leaflet budgets are managed to budgeted targets.
Spend and accruals reconciled on a monthly basis.
Variance understood, managed and reported.

Measures:
Spend managed to within budget.
Monthly reconciliations completed accurately and sent to Finance.
Budget forecasts produced and quarterly re-planning managed.

Area of Responsibility: Health & Safety.

Educated to A’ level standard (or equivalent)
Degree level qualification ideally in Marketing or Business related
Certificate in Marketing

Function Knowledge & Experience:
Proven experience in a marketing role (FMCG/Retail).
Experience of Working to Brand Guidelines.
Experience of delivering in-store campaigns.
Agency management experience.
Experience in brand management.
Food retail background preferably in the independent retail market
Commercial experience.
Wide knowledge of the UK grocery industry a distinct advantage.
